Chromatics are the reflection on the dark side of the street. The Portland-based band features singer Ruth Radelet, guitarist Adam Miller, drummer Nat Walker and producer/multi-instrumentalist Johnny Jewel. On the critically-commended 2012 Kill for Love, beautiful vocals gave life to city phrases, with rhythms that kept everyone moving but not quickly enough to miss the crash. Pitchfork named it “Best New Music” and it was later named number 8 on their “Top 50 Albums of 2012″ list. Originally described as a no-wave band, Chromatics have since been associated with a slow, dark and dreamy take on the Italo Disco sub-genre. Their sound was the perfect live soundtrack to the 2013 Spring/Summer Chanel runway show, and has been featured in films, including the 2012 Drive. With four studio albums, they perfectly represent the Italians Do It Better label that is ran by Jewel. Chromatics continue to move ahead, crossing genre boundaries and establishing a new criteria for electronic music.
